Happy International Women’s Day

This International Women’s Day, our team shares inspiring stories and insights on resilience, success, and empowerment.

For this International Women’s Day, we’ve asked some of our team members to share their thoughts, experiences, and words of wisdom. Here’s what they had to say:

If you could give one message to all women in the world, what would it be?
The struggle continues, and we must all stand up for women’s rights. – Anita Boscariol

How do you define success for yourself?
Success for me is when everyone around me is also successful. I succeed when I help others succeed. – Dalene Visser

How do you define resilience?
Resilience, to me, is strength, optimism, and growth. Having the strength to never give up, staying optimistic for a better day, and growing from a challenge, no matter what. – Farah Tozy

What advice would you give to the next generation of women in your industry?
As someone who has been in the industry for over 20 years and a mother of a teenage daughter, I advise the next generation to be resilient, bold, and authentically themselves. Law can be challenging, but women have strong instincts that are incomparable in this industry. – Janet De Vita

In one word, what does International Women’s Day mean to you?
International Women’s Day is a celebration. It celebrates the power, influence, and impact women have in the world. – Katharine E. Hennebery

What’s a quote that has always stuck with you, and why?
The phrase “Wherever you go, there you are” has always been a powerful reminder that running from fear is never the answer. It inspires me to face my challenges head-on with strength and courage, knowing that avoiding them only means they’ll follow me wherever I go. Embracing my fears is the only way to truly overcome them and move forward.  – Lauren Liebowitz

What’s a piece of advice you’d give to your younger self?
I often receive calls from law students and foreign-trained lawyers seeking advice on navigating the legal profession and their career paths. Every time, I see a version of my younger self. If I could give myself one piece of advice, it would be this:

Trust yourself. You bring strengths and perspectives that others don’t. In this profession, you will walk into rooms where no one looks like you or shares your background. Some will underestimate you before you even speak. Let your work surprise them.

You will fight battles others don’t have to, proving that you belong, that you are just as capable, if not more. But with every case you win, every client you help, and every barrier you break, you will carve out space, not just for yourself but for those who come after you. You are not just finding your place in this profession; you are reshaping it. – Raha Seyed Ali

Who is a woman that has inspired you in your career or life, and why?
My good friend, Pat Kelly, is my beacon of inspiration. While leading her thriving marketing and branding company, she also took on the monumental task of organizing a 300-person fundraiser to support women and children fleeing domestic abuse. In the midst of these efforts, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Where many would have understandably stepped back to focus on their health, Pat faced this challenge with the same unwavering determination that defines her. She crafted a plan to balance her treatment and responsibilities, never once complaining. Her resilience and creativity shone through, culminating in one of the most successful fundraisers on the North Shore. Pat’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and the impact of a truly compassionate heart. Whenever I find myself struggling or feeling down, I think of Pat and her incredible strength, and it gives me the courage to dig deep and keep going. – Tammey George

Today and every day, we celebrate the incredible women at our firm who inspire, lead, and empower every day.

Thank you.
