Articled Student 2027-2028
Watson Goepel LLP is seeking applications for its 2027–2028 articling student positions.
We are a mid-sized, full-service law firm with offices in downtown Vancouver and West Vancouver. Our team is made up of dedicated barristers, solicitors, and mediators who are also actively engaged in their communities outside of the firm. We are committed to providing excellent service to our clients while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Our articling program offers a well-rounded and practical experience. Our lawyers primarily practice in business law, civil litigation, family law, and personal injury law. Articling students have the opportunity to gain exposure across these areas and to explore the types of work that most interest them.
Students can expect to be involved in meaningful work, including legal research, drafting, client interaction, and attending proceedings, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility throughout the articling term.
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate strong academic performance, excellent communication and organizational skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach to their work.
Applications should be submitted through the VI Law Portal and must include:
- Cover letter addressed to the Articling Committee
- Resume
- Copies of undergraduate and law school transcripts
Letters of reference and writing samples are not required but may be included.
Please ensure your application is submitted in accordance with the Vancouver Bar Association’s student recruitment guidelines.
Applicants selected for interviews will be contacted directly by the Articling Committee.
Supporting our students every step of the way.
We provide layered support for students, from oversight and leadership to professional development. Our students do not just sit on the sidelines; they experience a variety of real firsthand work with our lawyers across practice areas. Our firm’s culture encourages collaboration and we make sure you are in the room where it happens, whether in court, at an arbitration or in a key meeting.
Helping you navigate our firm.
In addition to your principal, we partner our students with a junior mentor – someone who can help you navigate the ins and outs of the firm. Together, they will ensure you have a well-rounded, thoughtful and enjoyable articling experience.
Joining Watson Goepel means gaining a partner to guide you through the formative stages of your career.
