Watson Goepel is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan R. Lee as the firm’s new Managing Partner, effective March 1st, 2020. He follows in the footsteps of Thomas G. Keast, Q.C., who served in this leadership role for over a decade.

Tammey George, Watson Goepel’s Chief Operating Officer states, “On behalf of the Partners and the entire management team we are thrilled that Ryan has agreed to take on this important leadership role at the firm. We are confident that he is the right person to continue to build on the great work of his predecessor Tom Keast, and that he will provide the thoughtful strategic direction needed to help Watson Goepel reach its goals.”

Thomas G. Keast, Q.C., former Managing Partner, adds, “The role of Managing Partner requires a delicate balancing of the sometimes diverse interests of partners, associates and staff while maintaining a high standard of client service and teamwork throughout the firm. Ryan has shown a keen instinct for meeting that challenge and will no doubt lead the firm to achieve its goals. I am personally very pleased to see him take the helm.”

Ryan is an experienced litigator and is also the Practice Group Leader for Watson Goepel’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. His practice includes a focus on commercial and property disputes, construction matters, transportation law, and employment law. As Managing Partner Ryan seeks to strategically and proactively support the growth and development of the firm while protecting the long-standing reputation for excellence that Watson Goepel has maintained since its inception in 1984.

“I take the responsibility of this role very seriously and am honoured that I have been entrusted with this incredible opportunity to contribute to the growth of the firm. Managing a firm is a team effort and I look forward to working with, and learning from, the wonderful management team and professionals here,” commented Ryan Lee.

Originally from Toronto, Ryan received his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 2007 and now calls Vancouver home. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, at his cabin on Gambier Island, and dabbling in many outdoor pursuits.
