Timothy Goepel* is a Partner in our Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. He conducts a broad civil litigation practice that focuses on commercial litigation, claims involving professional negligence, partnership/shareholder disputes, and employment matters.
A committed advocate, Tim places a high value on responsiveness and clear communication throughout the dispute resolution process, ensuring that his clients remain well-apprised each step of the way.
Tim has experience at all levels of court in British Columbia and with the Federal Court of Canada, including trials, summary trial proceedings, injunction applications, interlocutory applications, oppression remedy proceedings, judicial review petitions, and appellant hearings. In addition, he has acted as counsel in arbitrations, mediations, and regulatory proceedings.
Growing up on the West Coast, Tim competed at both the provincial and national level in tennis. He began his undergraduate education in the U.S. on a tennis scholarship, and then returned to Victoria to complete his degree. When not in court, or on the court, he spends his spare time with his young family.

- Jacobs v Yehia, 2019 BCSC 2086, acted for the defendant in a quantification of damages portion of the trial;
- Rosas v. Toca, 2018 BCCA 191, acted for the successful appellant on the issue as to whether or not there was consideration sufficient to upheld a variation of a loan agreement;
- Ranahan v. Iron Horse Enterprises & Logistics Inc., 2018 BCCA 75, acted for the successful respondent in an appeal of a personal injury judgment on the issue of both quantum and liability;
- TCF Ventures Corp. v. The Cambie Malone’s Corporation, 2017 BCCA 129, acted for the appellant in having the damages owed upon a termination of an independent contractor agreement reduced;
- Jacobs v. Yehia, 2016 BCCA 38; acted for the appellant in overturning a decision that granted the plaintiff a percentage interest in the defendant companies;
- Fredrickson v. Newtech Dental Laboratory Inc., 2015 BCCA 357, acted for the successful appellant in a wrongful dismissal matter on the issue of whether or not the appellant had failed to mitigate her damages by refusing an offer of reemployment after termination;
- Popat v. MacLennan, 2015 BCCA 219, acted for the successful appellant in overturning a dismissal of an oppression remedy claim;
- WorleyParsons Canada Ltd. v. David Nairn and Associates, 2013 BCCA 513, acted for the successful respondent in having the decision of the chambers judge to strike a third party notice upheld;
- Integrated Contractors Ltd. v. Leduc Development Ltd., 2016 BCSC 1984, acted for the defendant engineers in getting a claim dismissed in its entirety after a 20-day trial relating to a delay in completing a project development;
- TCF Ventures Corp. v. The Cambie Malone’s Corporation, 2016 BCSC 1521, acted for the employer in a wrongful dismissal matter;
- Woods v. City of Vancouver et al, 2009 BCPC 305, acted for the successful plaintiff in a claim relating a false arrest and false imprisonment;
- Narduzzi v. Richardson, 2009 BCSC 1254, acted for the plaintiff home builder in a construction dispute during a supreme court trial;
- Han v. Cho, 2009 BCSC 458, acted as junior counsel in a supreme court trial relating to a large civil fraud matter;
- Ace Okoman Holdings Ltd. v. Onni North Road Development, 2015 BCSC 407, acted for the successful plaintiff on a summary trial seeking relief from forfeiture of a commercial lease;
