Alida was born and raised on a farm in rural South Africa, where she developed a strong work ethic and a practical, down-to-earth approach to problem-solving. After practicing law for 11 years, she relocated with her family to Vancouver and began the process of requalifying to practice in Canada.
While earning her Certificate of Qualification through the National Committee on Accreditation (Federation of Law Societies of Canada), Alida worked as a paralegal at a leading North Shore law firm. This experience gave her valuable insight into the challenges clients face when navigating complex legal systems and reinforced her commitment to providing thoughtful, responsive service.
Alida holds a Master’s degree in Estate Law and is fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
Now articling at Watson Goepel, she is focused on building strong relationships with clients and delivering clear, confident guidance. She believes that great legal service begins with listening, learning, and adapting and she remains committed to growing her expertise to better serve those who rely on her.
When Alida is not practicing law, she’s a devoted mother who can usually be found cheering from the sidelines of a sports field or chasing the action at the local bike track. Supporting her kids’ passions is one of her greatest joys.
