Kaan D. Alkin

Kaan takes great care to provide high quality legal representation to clients. Guided by his passion for the rule of law and the administration of justice, he combines his scientific training with his experience in musical performance when he represents clients in court to put their best foot forward on the evidence and skillfully present their case. Kaan is a past recipient of the Blackstone Debating Medal from the University of Calgary Faculty of Law. He has a law degree from the University of Calgary Faculty of Law and he has experience litigating a variety of estate litigation cases.

Kaan’s practice focuses on estate litigation, which involves families in conflict and inter-generational disputes. He is methodical, steady, and focused in his representation of clients. He studies each case thoroughly and deeply so that he can expose all the strengths and weaknesses. He can help with a variety of legal issues that can arise after the death of a relative, including claims for variation of wills, contested spousal status, undue influence and incapacity claims, unjust enrichment claims, breach of trust and abuse of power of attorney claims, contested gifts and transfers of property before death, construction of wills applications, contested committeeships, executor and trustee accountings, executor and trustee compensation disputes and executor/trustee removal.

As an active member of the legal community, Kaan currently serves on the Executive of the Canadian Bar Association British Columbia – Vancouver Wills and Trusts subsection. In his free time, Kaan enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children.
