Introduction

We are currently seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Family Law Department in our Vancouver office. This position is in office, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable and thrives working in a busy environment independently and as part of a team.

Role and Responsabilities

  • Draft and prepare letters, memos, correspondence and court documents
  • Communicate with clients and opposing counsel
  • Schedule court dates for JCC’s, trials, chambers hearings; examinations for discovery, settlement meetings and mediations
  • Prepare and file court forms
  • Save all correspondence electronically
  • Maintain lawyer’s calendar and client meetings
  • Maintain B/F systems and organize files – electronic and paper-based
  • Prepare, send, and follow up on all client accounts
  • Open and close client files
  • Other administrative duties as required

Ideal Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience, family law experience preferred
  • Successful completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant or Paralegal program
  • Proficient technical skills in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook, Adobe, BC Online, Zoom, MS Teams, Divorcemate
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Salary:

The salary range for this position is $60,000- $73,000 annually; the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal and market equity.
